Pictured Rocks, Michigan, August 10, 2005

I ended up not taking any pictures on days two and three: day two wasn't very scenic, and day three had really threatening weather. The morning was free on day four so I went back to get some pictures of what we saw on day three. Afterwards we took we took a boat trip from town as far as Spray Falls, and these pictures are on this page as well.

The first group of pictures is from my morning hike over the day three territory. The falls are Miners Falls, where I had not previously hiked. The boat is the same type which we took in the afternoon. I have no clue as to what the plants are...

We took a boat ride in the afternoon which covered approximately the lower half of the park. We did not hike this route in sequence. The pictures are in sequence from southwest to northeast. Two days later, we walked to the top of Spray Falls, which is shown at the end of this group of pictures. The color of the cliffs comes from copper, manganese, iron, and other impurities in the sandstone. Finally, the old wooden lighthouse is on Grand Island, which was on our right coming back towards the harbor.
